Priscilla Colón is a Taíno Indigenous artist, teacher, and linguist whose work bridges visual art and language to celebrate and reconnect with her ancestral heritage. Inspired by her home garden, nature walks, and summer excursions, she works primarily in charcoal and pastels, embracing a tactile and immersive creative process. Her work expresses a profound love of nature—its textures, colors, and rhythms—while thoughtfully integrating Taíno language into the titles and themes of her pieces.
A Massachusetts transplant, Priscilla moved to New Hampshire 14 years ago, where the landscapes and seasons provide a rich canvas for her nature-focused art. She now considers New Hampshire home and is an active member of the Nashua Area Artists Association, contributing to the local arts community.
In addition to her visual art, Priscilla is a children’s book author and illustrator. Her books feature vibrant illustrations that bring to life nature scenes, portraits, and everyday moments that spark curiosity and imagination in young readers, while also introducing them to the Taíno Indigenous language and culture.
Whether through her art or books, Priscilla strives to create spaces where language, culture, and nature intersect, inviting audiences to experience the beauty of the natural world and the richness of Taíno heritage through her deeply personal and expressive vision.
